Insulation Construction and Characteristics
Thermocouple and thermocouple extension wire is manufactured under quality control procedures in accordance with ANSI MC 96.1. Inquiries are welcomed concerning any combination of thermoelements or insulations not included in this web. Please include a description of the application, the temperature range and ambient conditions. Also include all pertinent information available regarding the application such as previous success with a material tried. combinations Fibrous insulations tend to have higher temperature applications than plastic insulations but are less moisture resistant. Plastic insulations often have more flexibility and general resistance to chemicals than fibrous insulations. In combination with fibrous insulations, the plastic becomes the temperature limiting factor. Thermocouple and thermocouple extension wire must be of equivalent type to that of any existing associated instrumentation. Should a new temperature indication and/or control system be under consideration, the guidelines included in the Technical Data Section will help you select the most appropriate thermocouple type for your application. |
