This thermocouple adjusts to many immersion depths.  This eliminates stocking a variety of fixed immersion lengths.  The locking cap rotates on the ridges of the flexible tubing.  It obtain locking force from the spring compression of the tubing.  The Probe is kept under this force against the bottom of the adapter well, assuring rapid heat transfer to the thermocouple.  Thermocouples with type K calibration have a welded tip.  All other elements codes are for silver soldered tipped probes for faster response.
The thermocouple can be either a replacement for burnout or damaged sensors or for new installations.
The Varidepth thermocouple is available in calibration J, K, T, and E.  Stranded wire is solid.  Type J and K are available with stranded wire for single elements only.
Standard cold end termination has 6 inch leads with 2-1/2 inches split.  Other termination styles are available.

1. Drill to Desired immersion depth

2. Tap open end for the thread of the adapter to be used

3. Install adapter

4. Insert Thermocouple Probe into Adapter

5. Hold Thermocouple Probe firmly against bottom of Adapter Well

6. Rotate Locking Cap along flexible tube towards Adapter until it is about one turn from the Adapter

7. Press down and twist locking Cap to lock it against the Adapter.

8. Be certain that the thermocouple is firmly seated in the Adapter Well

9. The long six inch leads must be free to move to allow the flexible tubing to compress at the probe end.  A one inch diameter loop in the leads is suggested.
